The objects of the Trustees of the East Goscote Community Library are:

The advancement of education for the public benefit by the provision of a community library service for the residents and the wider community in East Goscote and the surrounding areas.

To promote for the benefit of the residents and the surrounding areas the provision of a public library for recreation and or other leisure time occupation of individuals who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or foe the public at large in the interests of  social welfare and with the object of improving the condition of life of the said residents , to provide these services to the public without discrimination on the grounds of sex, age, disability or other protected characteristic.

 

Data Protection Policy

  1. This Privacy Policy is provided to you by East Goscote Community Library which is the data controller for your data.
  2. Personal data is any information about a living individual which allows them to be identified from that data (for example a name, photographs, videos, email address, or address).  Identification can be by the personal data alone or in conjunction with any other personal data.  The processing of personal data is governed by legislation relating to personal data which applies in the United Kingdom including the General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR) and other local legislation relating to personal data and rights such as the Human Rights Act.

  7. Where you pay for activities such as use of the library financial identifiers such as bank account numbers, payment card numbers, payment/transaction identifiers, policy numbers, and claim numbers;

The personal data we process may include sensitive or other special categories of personal data such as criminal convictions, racial or ethnic origin, mental and physical health, details of injuries, medication/treatment received, political beliefs, trade union affiliation, genetic data, biometric data, data concerning and sexual life or orientation.

  3. Collected only for valid purposes that we have clearly explained to you and not used in any way that is incompatible with those purposes.

  7. Kept and destroyed securely including ensuring that appropriate technical and security measures are in place to protect your personal data to protect personal data from loss, misuse, unauthorised access and disclosure.

 

  1. The only third party that we are likely to share information with will be Leicestershire County Council butthe Trustees will only share information relative to the library services.
